Lyndsey Marie is a blogger based in Akron, Ohio. After viewing her blog several times last year, I immediately became hooked and made it one of my go to sites for personal life and style showcasing. I was honored to be able to do this interview with her.
What inspired you to start blogging?
A few years back I became obsessed with blogs. Everything from wedding blogs, to food, design, fashion, beauty, DIY, and more. I thought how great it would be to start my own but never really thought it was within reason, I mean I am just a normal girl, from a normal little city, with a normal life. Then one day in my little blog world I found a blogger who was from my same town and I LOVED reading her blog (Style Sarah) and it really inspired me to finally start my own.

What is the idea behind A Lovely Little Blog?
I really wanted to start the blog as a way to help my friends and family with the things I was constantly being asked anyway. I would frequently find my inbox flooded with questions on where I got a certain piece of clothing, or the best primer, a unique baby shower gift, or how I curled my hair, so I just decided why not put all these little areas of expertise in a place everyone could see, share, comment, question, and
enjoy?
enjoy?
Is style blogging more of a passion or would you turn it into a career?
My dream is to one day open my own clothing and home goods boutique and I never imagined when I started blogging how many opportunities and doors it would open towards that dream. I definitely do not ever want blogging to be my full time job but I do see it as a part of my future when I open up shop, showing outfit posts with pieces from my own store, and eventually growing into a mommy and interior design blog as my life changes.

Do you ever have "writer's block"?
OF COURSE! I don't believe in quantity over quality in the blog world. I will frequently run across blogs that post daily or even multiple times a day just to keep it constantly updated, but the majority of the time those blogs bore me to death. Those posts lack the excitement and genuine interest the blogger has in whatever they are blogging about. I would love to have more time to dedicate to my blog, but every time I post I am really excited and passionate about the topic. I get inspiration from friends, co-workers, family, and magazines!

How do you use social media?
I am very active on my blog Facebook page and have been from the start on my blog last year. It is where I get most of my views and readers from so I tend to focus most of my social media attention there. I of course use Twitter, Pinterest, and other social media platforms to share posts and form relationships with other bloggers and even businesses. I think it is important to try and connect with your followers on social media platforms in whatever way possible. Every time I get a comment or tweet I reply as soon as possible. Even if it is just a simple Thank you, it means the world to a fan!

What advice could you give to aspiring fashion bloggers?
Oh geeze! I'm not even sure I can really consider myself a fashion blogger (although I would love to)! The best advice I ever heard was to not compare yourself and your blog to anyone else or else's. Its hard not to get caught up in a really awesome blog and wish you were at that level but being unique and genuine to yourself is what makes your blog great and special. Only post about topics and companies you would typically talk about or refer to a friend, never because they pay you or sponsor you to.

What would I find in your closet right now?
My standard GO TO look is high waisted fitted skirts, and loose, blousy tops. I have been completely enamored with printed and colored denim! I am also loving all gold jewelry lately.
Favorite designer/brand?
Tough one! I adore Chanel and if I could afford any designer it would probably be that. Something a bit closer to my price range is Lauren Conrads Paper Crown collection. I have always loved her easy style that mixes chic/cali girl/rocker/prep all into one. My whole life I have never stuck to one specific look or fashion genre. Some days I wear converse and ray-bans and other I wear Gianni Bini's and BCBG, it depends on my mood and I think Lauren Conrad does the same thing.

Do you thrift? If so, where?
YES!! Everyone should thrift! I think a lot of people get the wrong idea of thrifting and get turned off by it easily. It also requires patience and creativity to find great pieces and see the potential for them. The best Thrift store around me is the Village Discount in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. I also love The Hidden Pearl, and A Secret Past also in the falls. One last thing: stilettos or doc martens?
STILETTOS of COURSE!
AWW i adore it!! thank you for the opp and the kind words!!
ReplyDeletep.s. your blog is beautiful!!
