A lot of my friends have talked to me about how much they hate curling their hair. Not because they don't like curls, but because they don't last long enough to enjoy. Here are some tips on how to keep your curls.
Wash and blow-dry your hair.
Washing and blow-drying your hair before curling will give you the best results. Why? When you start with fresh hair, the curl will hold longer, versus hair that has had multiple products added to it, been slept on, etc. Wash with shampoo and conditioner, towel dry, and add a minimal amount of moisturizer before drying (try) Make sure you use a comb to make sure everything is completely dry.
Properly section your hair.
If your hair isn’t properly separated, it will take a long time to curl (especially if it is long!) The best way to section it off is down the middle and ear to ear.
Get a good hairspray.
I recommend for those chicks out there who are on a strict budget, John Frieda Luxurious Volume All-Out Hold Hairspray. IF you are willing to spend a little more, I suggest L'Oreal Elnett Extra Stong Hold Hairspray. I use this hairspray and LOVE IT!! I mean, if the Kardashians use it, it has to be good, Right? :)
How these tips help you! and remember, give yourself PLENTY of time to do this! it may take you all day (or not) But don't try to do this 20 minutes before you have to go somewhere. It won't work!

Thanks...i still haven't mastered the art. I do the get out of the shower, stick it up in a bun until it dries and hope for the best hairstyling approach.
ReplyDeleteHaha I know the feeling! usually I just curl my hair when I have an event to go to, or when I feel that I need to do something with my hair! :)
